Charges against Jets: Grand theft

The New York Jets fleeced their former coach Saturday.

That's the only way to describe their move up to land Mark Sanchez. They have their franchise passer. No more broken down, old quarterbacks in New York. Sanchez will be special.

The Jets fans will come to love him. You wait and see.

And all it cost them was three players they can easily afford to lose and a second-round pick. What is Eric Mangini doing in Cleveland?
How many ex-Jets can he accumulate? Doesn't he realize they hated playing for him when he was there?

I do think safety Abram Elam, one of the players Mangini acquired, will be a good player, but they didn't get enough.
Somebody arrest Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum. He committed grand theft Saturday.

Wow..on the surface it does seem the Jets took Cleveland to the cleaners.

Cleveland does need players though.  If the player produce and they get a good #2 pick the Browns will have 4 starters for the #5 pick.

Prisco, you are a fool.

Coleman was a starter at DE who will give us depth in our front 7. Elam steps in as a starting S from day one, a guy we went after in FA and will start over Mike Adams, instant upgrade. Ratliff gives us a backup QB and allows us to trade D.A. or Quinn. And then on top of that, we pick up the 17th and 52nd overall picks.

It's about depth, that's how you build teams, 1-53 on the roster. The Browns had noooo depth last year and now we are finally building it. We would have had to get a backup QB, DE, and starting S and just got it all done right there. Now the team can draft for talent at LB, CB and WR. Wonderful trade for the Browns.

This is a solid pick for the Jets. Sanchez has been working on his physical ability in recent months and knows that the spotlight is on him to have a better start than Leinart had.
As I said in a different post, if he can adjust to the cold, he'll be good to go. I like the quote "no more broken down, old quarterbacks".

The player they are going to get at #17 isn't going to be that much less a player.  I like the idea of stock-piling picks.  The #52 pick could provide a really solid player.  Depth in the NFL is key.  First round draft picks are never guarantees.

True cause all of those "Franchise" USC QBs have turned out to be real special. Just look at Matt Lei - oh nevermind. At least Carson Palmer - oh right. I love these draft day instant analysis. Because i'm sure everyone was saying "The Pats just picked up a future HOF at pick 199 in Tom Brady."

Pick your poison.  There were 7 teams trying to trade out of the top 10 picks, and not many wanting to trade up.  Supply and demand Prisco.  The Browns weren't trading away a pro-bowl receiver, where the going rate is a 1st, 3rd and more.
