McDaniels good hire for Rams

As a head coach, I thought Josh McDaniels was over his head, a boy-wonder not yet quite ready for the responsibilities that came with being the man.

But I think he will be a good offensive coordinator in St. Louis.

I was very critical of the way McDaniels ran things in Denver, his power far too great for a coach with his experience.

But when he ran the New England offense, he seemed to have a great rapport with Tom Brady. I think he's a good play-caller.

Now he has Sam Bradford to work with. I bet it's a good marriage.

McDaniels should use his time with the Rams to look inside and realize that while he worked for Bill Belichick, he isn't him. He needs to be himself.

It helps to have a passer like Bradford. The Rams offense, provided they get a deep threat, will be a good one to build as the team moves forward.

McDaniels can use the Rams job to re-build his image. The word is he works his butt off and is a damn good coach.

It is time he realizes that he needs to quit acting liek the guy in the hoodie who used to be his boss and more like Josh McDaniels. If he can do that, he will be a head coach again.

McDaniels is the idiot

I keep hearing and reading the same things as it relates to the Jay Cutler-Josh McDaniels feud in Denver. Most of if states that Cutler needs to quit being a baby and realize the NFL is a business.

Yes, he might be overreacting. And he deserves some ripping. But what's lost in this battle is that if the NFL is a business, which it is, the Broncos are considering some of the worst business I've seen.

How can they even consider trading a franchise quarterback who is 25 years old? Cutler's taking all the heat, but McDaniels is the one who should be.

He's the one who is in his first head job and he's considering making one of the dumbest decisions a coach can make. There are only so many good quarterbacks in this league and he's thinking about trading one away. Why is he getting a free pass here? He's the one who should be getting torched.

So both parties deserve some heat. But there's no doubt McDaniels is the one who deserves the most of it.
